A shift in focus for RSEPosted by nmjunko
Dear Customers and Friends-
It’s time for Rising Sun Earthworks to change direction.
I sold my first piece of pottery when I lived in New Mexico 18 years ago. It was a blue mug I sold to a neighbor who happened to be walking by my garage as I was unloading my kiln one day. For many years I have been active creating both in-stock and custom pieces for my loyal customers. At this time, though, I am feeling the need to indulge my creative and artistic side and set the production aside indefinitely. Therefore, as of March 1, 2016, custom orders of any kind will no longer be an option.
I will continue to take orders from ACBA clubs through the end of the year, but will no longer take individual orders. ACBA is the American Cavy Breeders Association who gave me my start and really supported me from the very beginning, and I owe a lot to them!
In the future I will continue to do local shows, but for the most part I am going to indulge my artistic side and just create things that I feel like making, when I feel like making them. These will probably end up in my Etsy shop, which I will try to keep better stocked with unique pieces as well as some of my standard items. Without deadlines and the pressure I put on myself when filling orders, I hope my creativity will reawaken.
Thank you to all my loyal friends and customers who have supported me through the years! I hope this change will allow me to have more items- and also more unique items- on offer in my Etsy shop in the coming months.
