Resolutions

Congratulations to Melissa who posted the 23rd comment! She wins the squishy cup! Thanks for entering, everyone!
**********************
Do you have any resolutions for the new year? It’s almost 2013 and I want to change a few things in my life.
As I fill out a whole year of tax information (instead of monthly or quarterly)– after working all day yesterday I got through May <red face> <hanging head in shame>– my first resolution is this:
1. Get tax information filled out quarterly at the very least.
Also I really fell hard off the diet/exercise wagon last year, so I have the very predicable and boring:
2. Start eating healthy and exercising again.
My 2012 working schedule was either FullSteamAheadWork12HoursADayPanicMode; or I avoided the mud for days, even weeks at a time. This year I’m going to try for:
3. Slow (as in not overwhelming) but steady working hours.
And finally, just for fun,
4. Try to do more fun things (contests, drawings, sales) for my customers, blog readers and facebook followers this year!
Sooo, let’s start with this:
Win this squishy cup!
The squishy cup came about when a dear customer of mine asked for me to design some type of cup that would be easy for her small children to hold. After playing around with a few prototypes, I tried throwing a very round form and squishing in 4 sides to create grabbable dents and bulges in the cup, and tada! the squishy cup was born! They have become quite popular with the RSE crowd- for adults and children alike.
RSE squishy cups hold approximately 6-8 ounces. This one is glazed beach outside and clear inside. My “beach” glaze is a sandy colored glaze with ocean blue accents and sometimes little flat aqua crystals form in the glaze.
Leave a comment telling us what your biggest/most interesting resolution is, or if you are even making any resolutions this year, and on January 2 I will randomly draw a winner and send them this squishy cup with free postage within the US, or with $10 off of postage to anywhere else. Comments may take a while before they show up. One comment per customer, please!
Check back here to see if you’ve won, and good luck to all who enter!

Oh yes please! I’ve admired these for years! My biggest resolution this year is to find a new kind of happy and settle my divorce from my husband who left myself, our 3 year old and six year old last February.

My resolution is a new me! I am working on eating healthier, and spending more time on the things that make me happiest. Less time on things that hurt my soul. <3

My new years resolution is to learn all about chickens. I’ve wanted to keep chickens for years and once we move out of our townhouse we can finally do it.
Thank you for the chance; we love our RSE pottery and I know the kids would love this squishy cup. : )

This year I am resolving to stock one item a day. To keep the slow and steady pace going as opposed to the constant spurts of work my fingers to the bone panic mode that I know you are familiar with.

My biggest resolution is to lose 50 pounds next year. I really need to be healthier so that I can be a good example to my kids. If I can do this, everything will get easier and I will be happier as well.

I am going to begin eating healthier starting with Whole Veggie and fruit juicing to get back to a better weight for my daughter’s wedding and beyond! The Cup BTW is way cool as are your Etsy designs!

Love your work!!!!!
My biggest resolution is to finally start losing weight and getting in shape. It isn’t about getting thin. It’s about being healthier and feeling better. I am tired of feeling like a slug and I want to set a better example for my kids. More do as I do and less do as I say, not as I do.
Comment by Dawn W on December 30, 2012 at 6:09 pm
Lose weight!!! Again….

I resolve;
to knit myself at least 3 pairs of socks during the year.
to keep my accounts up to date and work out how to set up a spreadsheet for them.
to knit at least one in stock item a month, using a new pattern for each, from my ridiculous list of licenses.
to stick to my resolutions this year.

Adorable! My goals are to create more routine around the house and maintain, instead of, like you say, rush madly in 12 hour days and then need extended breaks away. I want to spend more time engaging my children outdoors and digesting things in small pieces
Comment by Lisa on December 30, 2012 at 6:14 pm
I’ve never been good at making or keeping resolutions. :/

I know a very dear little girl that would love to use this! ( And no, its not one of mine! ) My New Year resolution is to BE IN THE PRESENT.. just move forward, try harder, be positive and stay moving along.

I resolve to get rid of all my ugly, charmless cups to make more cupboard space for RSE.
My husband and I have been talking about resolutions a lot the past few days but I don’t have anything down on paper yet. One thing we have decided on is eating less of some things so we can afford to buy higher quality foods.
Comment by Sandra on December 30, 2012 at 6:42 pm
Love your squishy cups June!
So far my resolutions are physical – haven’t decided upon others yet. My fitness goals are to get to my goal weight by my birthday in May, and to be able to do a pull-up and a handstand unassisted by the end of 2013.
Happy New Year!

Don’t usually make resolutions, I just feel bad when I can’t keep them!
Comment by Megan on December 30, 2012 at 6:47 pm
My resolution is a boring one. I’m going to step up excersise and strive for daily movement. To me this means running or biking as much as possible and filling in those other days with yoga and nature walks.
Comment by Catherine on December 30, 2012 at 6:48 pm
I never really make New Years resolutions, but this year I’m determined to grow in my relationship with my Lord and encourage my children and husband to do the same. May you have a blessed 2013 June!

I’m having a surprise little one this February. My two children are 11 and 8, so my resolution is to try to be a very patient mama, and make sure all the kiddos get equal love and attention. Also, I am resolving to keep up with the laundry and dishes and move toward a greener life. Good luck everyone!!
Comment by Gwen on December 30, 2012 at 7:37 pm
This year I resolved to keep my temper in check when dealing with my son. No one knows how to push my buttons better than he, but I am the grown-up, so I should do better.
Comment by Lindsey on December 30, 2012 at 8:07 pm
I have a couple resolutions this year. Most importantly I want to spend more time planning fun activities and projects for my kids. I also want to knit and sew at least half of the projects i have planned for the kids before they stop appreciating handmade things. No more buying yarn until I use at least a third of my stash. And get all the unfinished projects done around the house and paint every room.
Comment by Katie on December 30, 2012 at 8:08 pm
I’m also doing the boring get healthier and exercise more. I’d like to start running when it gets warmer. My goal is to be able to chase the kids without feeling so winded. I don’t really need to lose weight, just be healthier.
Comment by Zeida on December 30, 2012 at 8:15 pm
My resolution is not to worry. I do so much of it and it is taking away from my being happy.
Comment by Monica on December 30, 2012 at 8:26 pm
I resolve to share *only* JOY this year. I will help to be the change we need in society.
Comment by Teresa on December 30, 2012 at 8:52 pm
I always wanted to try a squishy cup but thought they were for kids. I usually don’t make resolutions as I feel they are just an invitation to failure and I find that pretty well without any invitation. But this year, I told my girls I have two – first, I am going to walk more than I did last year, and second – I am going to try to be nicer to and about people no matter how stupid or irritating they are. The girls are going to have to really help with that last one.

LOOOVE the squishy!
My resolutions are to avoid giving into cravings too badly and walk so that this pregnancy doesn’t cause me too many excess pounds! I also want to keep on top of housework better, since soon enough we’ll have a newborn, in addition to our other three!

I just turned 30 about 3 weeks ago, so my resolution if to start taking things a little more slowly and living more intentionally. I have an online business, I homeschool, and I am a coop hostess. I need to learn how and when to say no

Happy New Year to you June & best wishes in 2013!

I don’t make resolutions for the new year. I just strive to take each day for what it can teach me me give me inmy understanding of the world. So far, it has been a good perspective for me. Here’s to another year.

I’ve been wanting a squishy cup for a long time!
Comment by Kaylene on December 31, 2012 at 7:56 pm
My resolution is one DH and I are doing together. We are resolving to each take our oldest DD out once a month for some much deserved one on one time. She is 5-7 years older than her brothers and has been ‘on her own’ a lot over the last couple years. Time to give her some undivided attention
Comment by Catherine on December 31, 2012 at 8:16 pm
I want to read 52 books in the coming year.
Comment by Jennifer on December 31, 2012 at 9:34 pm
My resolutions this year are not all that interesting, but here goes:
Put on clothes every day (i.e. get out of my jammies!!)
Also,
Journal every day. I’ve gotten away from journaling each day with this year’s crazy and miss it dearly.

I really want to lose weight, and put away some money into savings. Both are hard goals but I will try hard!
Comment by Nikki Plank on January 1, 2013 at 2:12 am
I have not really thought of anything super specific. I just want to make sure and take time this year to be in the moment more and not always so busy I am missing the beautiful wonderful boring every day.
Comment by Laura on January 1, 2013 at 2:23 am
1. Get myself healthier – a healthier weight, eating cleaner, physically in better shape.
2. Improve our finances
3. Simplify life a little bit more
Comment by Diana on January 1, 2013 at 5:40 am
I have several things I want to accomplish in the New Year:
1. Get back on the minimalism bandwagon. I want to purge things I don’t love or are not getting good use.
2. Try a new recipe a week. Just want to have fun while cooking again.
3. Dance and sing around the house more instead of rushing around cleaning.
Happy New Year!

I’m not making any resolutions, but I’m following a “theme” for the new year, which is “move”
So many directions I want to move. I just need to pick one and stick with it.
Awesome idea doing more contests. Happy New Year!
