Archive for April, 2013

In all the ways a mama can.  That is all.

Yes, it’s another preorder!  This time we are doing compost pails (some of my customers use them for cookie jars), butter crocks, and again, the ever popular squishy cups!  Hurry though, it ends on April 22 and numbers are limited!  You can sign up here:

The compost pails are versatile 1.5 to 2 quart pots with lids and copper handles that are great to keep by the kitchen sink for food scraps to take out to the garden later.  They are also great for storing cookies, dog food, dry food items, and many other items.  I can make them with a plain handle, or a cute toadstool one!

And then we have butter crocks!  These are clever little lidded pots that keep your butter fresh and spreadable without refrigeration.  Just put a little water in the bottom, pack butter into the lid, and it creates an airtight seal that keeps your butter fresh for a couple of weeks!

And of course, squishy cups are available again, in child and adult sizes!

I had a great day at the marketplace at the culmination of the Great Rhody Yarn Crawl, at historic Mount Hope Farm in Bristol.  What gorgeous grounds!  The marketplace was held in the barn, which has 17 foot ceilings and a fireplace.  It was really a beautiful and perfect place to hold this event.  Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth and thank you to the organizers- it was a fun day!

Hi everyone!  I will be at the Marketplace at beautiful Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island, for their Marketplace from 12-4 tomorrow, Sunday, April 14.  I will be bringing mainly yarn bowls, mugs and dippy bowls for this event.

I just now pulled these bowls out of the kiln- just in time!  Russell approves.

Hope to see you there!  Bring a non-perishable food item for the entry fee!

Yes, it is April Fool’s, but no, I am not fooling.

I promise!

Yes, although it *is* April Fool’s Day, and I am well known for being the biggest fool around, I have either been too busy, too old, too grumpy, or all of the above, to pull any great April Fool’s  pranks the last couple of years.  I went hog wild about 3 years ago (my poor kids) and ever since… nothing. 🙁

So, I need your help.  Tell me about the best prank you pulled today! Or last year, or 10 years ago.  Make me laugh by adding your prank in a comment below.  On Friday, April 5, I will do a random drawing of all entries and send the winner, free of charge (as long as you are in the U.S.)  an adult sized squishy cup in Hobbit Blue!  If you are outside of the U.S., you will be asked to pay your shipping less $10, which is what my cost will be to ship it within the U.S.

Here is an example of one of my hobbit blue adult squishy cups (this is a stock photo but the one you get will be similar).  It holds 14-16 ounces:

And here is a prank my son and I pulled on my daughter, Katie, a couple of years ago, if you haven’t seen it yet:

Slenderman Prank

Good luck!

And the winner is:  #48!  Congratulations, Lacey Hambley!
