Hi everyone! I’m going a little crazy with preorders this spring. Now happening- an itty bitty dippy dish preorder!

These are tiny little dishes that hold about 3 tablespoons of dip, ketchup, soy sauce, or maybe premeasured spices for cooking! They are left unglazed on the outside and glazed only on the inside because I love the contrast of the earthy, sandy texture of the clay against the contrast of the smooth colorful glazes within.

While usually I make the square ones available year round and the heart shaped ones only during Valentine’s Day, enough of my dear friends and customers have requested them that I am going to make them for this preorder only!

Here is the facebook link to order: https://www.facebook.com/events/309331245864223/

Hurry! Orders are being taken until May 15, with payment due May 17, but I will only make a limited number so when it fills up, we will have to close the preorder.

Yes, it’s another preorder! This time we are doing compost pails (some of my customers use them for cookie jars), butter crocks, and again, the ever popular squishy cups! Hurry though, it ends on April 22 and numbers are limited! You can sign up here:

The Squirmie Worm- a forum for group buys

The compost pails are versatile 1.5 to 2 quart pots with lids and copper handles that are great to keep by the kitchen sink for food scraps to take out to the garden later. They are also great for storing cookies, dog food, dry food items, and many other items. I can make them with a plain handle, or a cute toadstool one!

And then we have butter crocks! These are clever little lidded pots that keep your butter fresh and spreadable without refrigeration. Just put a little water in the bottom, pack butter into the lid, and it creates an airtight seal that keeps your butter fresh for a couple of weeks!

And of course, squishy cups are available again, in child and adult sizes!

Yes, it is April Fool’s, but no, I am not fooling.

I promise!

Yes, although it *is* April Fool’s Day, and I am well known for being the biggest fool around, I have either been too busy, too old, too grumpy, or all of the above, to pull any great April Fool’s pranks the last couple of years. I went hog wild about 3 years ago (my poor kids) and ever since… nothing.

So, I need your help. Tell me about the best prank you pulled today! Or last year, or 10 years ago. Make me laugh by adding your prank in a comment below. On Friday, April 5, I will do a random drawing of all entries and send the winner, free of charge (as long as you are in the U.S.) an adult sized squishy cup in Hobbit Blue! If you are outside of the U.S., you will be asked to pay your shipping less $10, which is what my cost will be to ship it within the U.S.

Here is an example of one of my hobbit blue adult squishy cups (this is a stock photo but the one you get will be similar). It holds 14-16 ounces:

And here is a prank my son and I pulled on my daughter, Katie, a couple of years ago, if you haven’t seen it yet:

Slenderman Prank

Good luck!

****************

And the winner is: #48! Congratulations, Lacey Hambley!

This year I will be participating in The Great Rhody Yarn Crawl, an event that takes place April 12-14, 2013.

From the Ravelry page:

What is a yarn crawl anyway?

A yarn crawl is an organized event that features your local yarn stores.

Organizers of a yarn crawl do all the work. We find the sponsorship for raffles and we contact the yarn stores to find out what stores will participating. We provide the structure that turns browsing at a yarn store into a fun event.

How do you participate?

There is no cost for participating in a yarn crawl. You visit the yarn stores participating in your area (during their businesss hours) on the dates we have scheduled the yarn crawl. That’s it!

I will be a vendor on the last day, Sunday, April 14 from 12-4 at the Barn at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, RI (250 Metacom Ave). I won’t have all of my stock there, however; this event’s inventory will consist mainly of yarn, knitting and fiber related items- mostly yarn bowls and mugs.

I hope to see you there!

While Hyenacart is geared more towards cloth diapering and natural living, Indiecart features well-established artisans with outstanding feedback and quality items, who must pass several criteria before being invited to set up shop. This assures that customers can shop with confidence!

I have stocked a few items to be available for sale on St. Patrick’s day, March 17, at 10 p.m. EST. Please come visit!

It’s no secret that I love animals. I’m a little bit crazy about all kinds of animals, except maybe hamsters. We have had a lot of pets:

Darn, I couldn’t fit Roth, Simon, Gris Gris, Poe, Boi Boi, Precious, Sparklefairy, Stephen, Montoya, Dolly, Bunny, Kimi, Shohko, Elmo, Orville and the rest of the crew in there! Sorry, guys!

I also love to hear about other people’s pets. I can talk pets all day, every day, much to my husband’s dismay. And, because the definition of “pet” is “an animal treated with care and affection,” I would like to give away this heart bowl in honor of our beloved pets:

I think a heart is the perfect symbol of “care and affection.”

It’s a good size and perfect for feeding or watering anything up to a medium sized dog! I’m too lazy this morning to get up and measure it, but I’m going to guess it holds 3 to 4 cups.

All you have to do is tell me what pets you have, or used to have (and tell me their names, too!) in the comments below. If you are pet-deprived (you poor thing!) just say so- you will still get a chance to win this bowl, and you can use it to feed and water yourself!

I will use a random number generator to choose the winner on Wednesday, March 13. Winners in the US will receive this heart absolutely free! International winners will receive the heart bowl free, and I will cover $12 of shipping, but the winner must pay for the remaining shipping charge.

Good luck!

*********

And the winner is: #27- Dana!

If you’d still like to share your pet stories, I’d love to hear them!
